about
This track was written almost 18 years ago as a heartfelt ode to losing love and finding a surprise silver lining. It took many years to finally bring this song to life and couldn't have been done without the amazing support that is the Torchettes coven. Sometimes you just have to wait until it feels just right.
lyrics
I met a Paverman one day, walking down the street his eyes said hey
Take me for a ride in your big truck, sail me away with your sweet talk
I loved him dearly, I loved him sweet, broke his heart in the middle of the street
Standing there with a flower in my hand, I said please don't go Paverman
I met a Paverman singing my song, his big blue eyes said it wouldn't be long
We danced in the trees under the moonlight, loved like crazy people all through the night
Well he talked kinda funny with a crooked little grin, his smile looking out like a sweet ol sin
Standing there with a flower in my hand, I said please don't go Paverman
I said goodbye to my Paverman, kissed him on the cheek and held his dirty hand
He left me with a secret part of him, his first true love AvaLynne
I loved him dearly, I loved him sweet, broke his heart in the middle of the street
Standing there with a flower in my hand, I said please don't go Paverman, Paverman, Paverman

Dripping with sensuality, fuzz covered grunge guitar and the infectious familiarity of 60’s rock-soul, the Torchettes
combine their angelic and emphatic vocal tones to create a sound somehow ahead of and behind its time. Think Amy Winehouse backed by the Blackhearts, Wanda Jackson fronting Hole; and you’ve still only scratched the surface of what this melodic trio can accomplish....more
